Barbara Huning MA LP

Barb Huning is a licensed psychologist, clinical supervisor and nationally certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist specializing in recovery from complex trauma. With a career spanning nearly 40 years, she brings extensive experience helping people untangle issues that affect every area of life, including problems such as treatment resistant depression and anxiety, suicide and self-harm urges, addictive behaviors, dissociation and Complex PTSD. She uses nature-centered mindfulness and mindful movement to help clients discharge traumatic stress from the body, recover their connection with adaptive inner guidance, restore their sensory connections and feelings of belonging and safety in the world.

In addition to DBT, Barb integrates other mindfulness-based approaches including ecopsychology, polyvagal training, sensorimotor and Somatic Experiencing™ techniques. She has completed training in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy with Polaris Insight Center and is currently training in Spring Forest Qigong.

With a warm, empowering approach and a steady guiding hand, Barb sees the recovery process as one of self-actualization. In this philosophy, our natural healing intelligence leads us into mastery of painful life events, enabling us to develop deeply satisfying, fulfilling and meaningful lives. She practices anti-racism and anti-oppression in her personal and professional life and welcomes all, creating a safe space in which your identity is honored.

I’d love to help you create a life you truly love. See how you can work with me to empower your journey.
