Maggie Duret, LPCC
Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Specialist
Maggie Duret is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who specializes in treating OCD and anxiety disorders in adults, couples, and groups. She often helps her clients address those anxious, circular "What if?" questions that float into the mind and just won't seem to get out.
Maggie has specific expertise when OCD and anxiety disorders co-occur with trauma, religious/moral/spiritual scrupulosity, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Her clients are often interested in examining existential questions and finding more ease in embracing the uncertainties of life. Maggie believes in a self-compassionate approach to helping her clients lean into discomfort and discovering that they can, indeed, trust themselves.
She offers individualized, evidence-based treatments, using modalities including Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). She incorporates DBT skills, family of origin work, narrative techniques, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing when appropriate.
Maggie believes the most rewarding and effective therapeutic relationship is one between two individuals in the process of growth together. She is passionate about working with people who identify as a variety of sexual orientations, gender identities, races, and religions. She is dedicated to creating an affirming and supportive space for all of her clients.
In her personal time, Maggie enjoys being a mom to twin girls, spending quality time with her loved ones, singing in choirs across the Twin Cities, and making her home feel as cozy as possible.
Maggie is MN Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #3909.
